Environmental festival launched
A new environmentally-friendly themed music festival which will be staged in the Cairngorms National Park has been officially launched.
Crowds of up to 10,000 are expected to attend The Outsider, a three-day celebration of the outdoors.
The event, from 22 to 24 June, is being headlined by KT Tunstall and Crowded House.
It will also feature a series of debates on environmental issues hosted by Kirsty Wark and Lord David Steel.
Internationally renowned environmental experts are also expected to be involved in the discussions.
It’s great having these concerts to raise awareness for environmental concerns, but I am concerned about the environmental impact these festivals have. Are measures being taken to offset their carbon footprint with these events ?
