Back in October last year the good people at vegan psicotik sound emailed to tell us about vegan (music) podcasts that they do. I loved this, right down our street this is and I told them that I’ll get something posted.

And then I promptly forgot.

But luckily in the middle of December they contacted me again to see how things were and I immediately remembered that I forgot and promised that I give them a shout out.

But I didn’t forget again. The festive season approached plus the fact that I must hold a record for being the… slowest…at…updating anything. But now finally. Finger is pulled out.

So who or what is the “vegan*psicótik*sound*system” ?

Actually I don’t really know myself. It is a podcast of ambient, transcendent, laid-back vegan friendly tunes. Something that you will (and I know Niki will !) groove and relax to…

Nowhere Boy and will be on general release from December 26th.

The film is directed by Sam Taylor-Wood and with a screenplay by Matt Greenhalgh (who wrote the script for the 2007 Joy Division film ‘Control’) is about Lennon’s childhood and adolescence. It also stars Kensington born David Morrisey. The movie is based on the book ‘Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon’ by his half-sister, Julia Baird.

Leona Lewis has teamed with the World Society For the Protection of Animals to promote their campaign, Animals Matter.

Pictured with her dog Misty for the photo shoot, Leona is asking you to pledge to take action against animal cruelty, from neglect and abuse from owners to those forced to endure hardship in the entertainment industry.

“Hi, I’m Leona Lewis and there are lots of things that matter to me-my family, friends and my music. But like so many of you, I’m an animal lover too and they’re welfare also matters to me.”

Paul McCartney December Tour

Sadly not stopping in Liverpool, he did play Anfield last year so…

This mini-tour just announced will start in Hamburg but there will only be one date in the UK.

Via the Beeb:

Sir Paul McCartney will perform his first European tour for five years in December, he has announced.

The Good Evening Europe tour will see the singer take in six cities including Berlin and Paris, before finishing at London’s O2 Arena on December 22nd …

… The tour will open on December 2nd in Hamburg, where the Beatles honed their sound with live performances in clubs between 1960 and 1962.

“This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began, starting in Hamburg, ending in London and rocking everywhere in between,” Sir Paul said.

“I’m very much looking forward to ending the year on a high.”

Just before the start of National Vegetarian Week (which ran from May 18th – 24th, 2009) the O’Leary clan [Ray, Jane and Niki, below in photo's taken by Matt] guested on Simon O’Brien’s radio show to promote the week and to cook him a vegan breakfast.

Nearing the end of this National Vegetarian Week which by fortuitous timing occurred during the celebration of Steven Patrick’s 50th birthday today. (Although I’m not sure the man himself will be looking forward to this milestone.)
