Not as serious as yesterday’s news items, but still some very sad/alarming stories.
Madonna causes stir with fur coat
Thursday, December 7, 2006
She has infuriated animal lovers before, and it looks as if Madonna could spark another row by wearing a fur coat.
The Queen of Pop was dining with husband Guy Ritchie last night (Wed 6th) at Cecconi’s restaurant in Mayfair, wearing a coat made from chinchilla, estimated at £35,000.
Madonna, 48, seemed oblivious to the outrage she may cause by choosing the real thing – made from 40 chincillas.
She has never taken an anti-fur stance, but has enraged animal rights activists in the past by not only wearing fur in films like Evita but in everyday life.
Nude horse love woman charged
Wednesday, November 29, 2006
An Australian woman is facing charges after police say they caught her naked, in a paddock, committing lewd acts with a horse.
The woman, from Casino in New South Wales, allegedly hit the jackpot with the horse in a paddock in Lismore, on the north coast of NSW, just after 9 o’clock on Monday morning.
Police were called to the paddock after a tip-off, where they found the woman unclothed, and ‘engaged in an indecent act with a horse,’ according to a NSW police spokesman.
The woman has been bailed, and will return to court on December 18 to face charges of bestiality and ‘behaving in an offensive manner.’
