SCORES of dog lovers attended an animal welfare rally this weekend.
The Deed not Breed campaign calls for tougher rules for the owners of dangerous dogs but fears thousands of innocent and harmless family pets will be put down because of irresponsible or panic-stricken owners.
On Saturday, campaigners visited Liverpool city centre and met worried dog owners in Williamson Square.
Since the death of Ellie Lawrenson in St Helens, scores of frightened dog owners have abandoned their animals, leaving rehoming centres at breaking point.”
