Vegan Manchester

Is this the way to the Arndale...?

Sometimes you might have to travel out to the wilds of Manchester, but the good news is that there are some very decent places to visit if you need to stop for a nibble.

Caroline from Tea and Sympatico posted on the ScouseVeg Discussion Group with a quick to vegan restaurants in Manchester:

“…Just in case any of you are ever in Manchester here’s a few tips of city centre places that are vegan friendly. They are all very close together in the Northern Quarter area which is just behind Piccadilly bus station and at the side of the Arndale. The more we support these places the more chance they have of surviving.”

Newly opened – Martin the Mod of the much missed Mod Pop Cafe has this week opened a veggie/vegan cafe serving pub-style grub at very reasonable prices in the Thirsty Scholar pub, right by Oxford Road Railway Station steps just off Oxford Road. Completely veggie/vegan kitchen and Martin the chef is a vegetarian chef of many years experience. The food operation is being run in the pub but is Martin’s own venture so please do get down to support him next time you are in Manchester City Centre.

Thanks for the tip on Dough. I’ve been craving a vegan pizza. I’ll try it tonight.

I’ve been going to Little Yang Sing in Manchester’s Chinatown for many years now as it has a huge vegetarian menu although tis an omni restaurant. They’re also very helpful with any dietary requests. Not to mention their sechzuan braised tofu is something I dream about. 🙂

    Check ’em out.
