From the 1st of October 2014, this blog will be moved to http://movingscouse.co.uk. Please update your reader accordingly. Thanks!
For the duration of September, all my Waltzing Wednesdays features will have something connection to veganism, which is only fitting I think!
I’ve also decided to take this feature a bit more seriously and try to post a song every week if I can. I feel like I’ve been neglecting it recently, and I think it’s one of those things that you can’t do sporadically. It has to either be regular or not be done at all. Since music is such an important part of my life, I’ll be posting it more regularly for a while, and we’ll see whether it catches on or gets axed!
I’m also creating a Spotify playlist with all the songs on it, adding to it as I go. You can find it here.
So having said all that, this week’s song is ‘The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect’ by one of my all-time favourites, The Rakes. This song was on the first indie-sampler I ever listened to and definitely paved my way to what is now my home genre (hah. Is that even a term?).
According to Wikipedia, The Rakes’ frontman, Alan Donohoe, is a vegan, making the song an excellent choice for Vegan MoFo!
Unfortunately, the band split up some years ago, but their tracks are still worth a listen!
What are some of your favourite bands? I love listening to new music, so I’d love to get inspired by you!
