The lovely folk at Veggie Republic kindly invited us to their Friday night Tapas night, having recently dined there, during the ‘Eat out to Help out’ campaign. We were eager to go back for more gorgeous food.
Their Tapas meal deal was a choice of four plates plus a glass of Estrella, Spanish wine or a glass of Sangria. We opted for Paella, Jalapeno balls, Patatas Bravas, Aioli and bread, Croquettes, Spanish tortilla, Padron peppers and vegan Calamari.
Wow, what a beautiful selection of textures and flavours, the Paella was cooked to perfection, the Jalapeno balls just melted in your mouth and the Spanish tortilla was just like the real thing!
You can’t go wrong with Patatas Bravas in a rich tomato sauce, lightly coated Croquettes full of creamy mash and the vegan Calamari, by far my favourite dish. We delighted in nibbling the Padron Peppers and dipping the bread into the rich and creamy Aioli.
The meal was washed down with a beautiful bottle of vegan white, this is one of the bonuses of going to an all vegan restaurant, not only are you guaranteed no cross contamination with meat, but there is a plenitude of fine vegan alcoholic beverages to choose from!
The talented staff at Veggie Republic worked hard to bring a fun themed night with Spanish music and a delicious and varied menu.
We were told that the the plan is to host more tapas styles nights of different cuisines and themes, so if you are planning a night out and want delicious food, lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Its most definitely worth a trip to Liverpool, you won’t be disappointed.
