Vegan Life Magazine | March/April 2015

Unfortunately, this is going to be a pictureless post, as I seem to have misplaced the photos I originally took! Blame my baby-brain…

As a vegan beauty and lifestyle blogger, I probably enjoy researching and reading about vegan cosmetics a whole lot more than is good for my limited amount of spare time. You can imagine my excitement when I realised that the last edition of Vegan Life Magazine contained a whole load of articles about just this topic! Not only was there ample information about all aspects of vegan beauty, but some of the articles were actually written by one of my favourite vegan bloggers – Sunny, who writes Vegan Beauty Review. I’ve been reading her blog for years and absolutely love it, it’s a fantastic resource for all things vegan!

As a blogger, I hear about the whole ‘bloggers are killing print media’ thing a lot. While I understand the concern, I don’t really buy into it. Personally, I really enjoy reading both blogs and magazines, but I would never replace one with the other. While blogs are a fantastic way to find out about the most recent product updates and news, nothing will ever replace the luxurious feeling of leafing through the pages of my favourite magazines on a Sunday afternoon! I think Vegan Life Magazine have set a fantastic example that the two don’t have to rule each other out and are, in fact, quite compatible.

My ony grievance with the magazine’s beauty feature is the fact that, despite being a UK-based magazine, Sunny is American. I wouldn’t usually consider that a problem at all, but the US have a far broader range of vegan cosmetics to choose from, so many of the products and brands mentioned by her aren’t actually easily available in the UK – that’s a shame, because there are tonnes of vegan UK brands that would have deserved a mention! But since I don’t see this magazine going away in the near future, there’s still plenty of time for that!

Did you buy the latest issue? What did you think?

  1. I loved it too. It’s more difficult to change your cosmetics and toiletries to vegan than your food! I did some more research into one of the companies (www.veganbeckles.com) but there a lots to try, exciting stuff!
