Today’s post isn’t a real food post, but it contains edible items… that counts, right?
My hair is literally the worst for dry, split ends. At the same time, it’s super fine and too much conditioner makes it really heavy and oily and removes the little volume I can coax into it, so it’s a bit of a difficult customer. Last weekend, I felt like it really needed a deep treatment. Although no hair mask can repair damaged ends, the extra moisture can make them a bit more smooth and easy to deal with, tying you over until you can next afford a haircut. Which, in my case, is about once a year.
DIY Avocado Hair Mask
1 overripe avocado
1 tablespoon coconut oil
hairband
old towel
Method
Mash the avocado in a small bowl. Add the coconut oil and microwave for a minute, until the oil is melted. I had to shampoo a few times to make sure I didn’t have little green lumps in my locks…
